How to order an expert report

quotation, acceptance and formalization of the order

How the expert quotation is prepared, what it includes, how it is accepted and when the report order is formalized.

After the assessment of the case, if it is necessary to intervene, a quotation is prepared oriented to the scope of the work. The quotation is put in writing before starting any billable process, so that you can decide with all the information in front of you.

What does the quotation contain?

The quotation is not a loose figure. It is accompanied by a job description, so that you understand exactly what you are hiring for.

Scope of the report

  • Purpose of the assignment: what is going to be assessed and for what purpose.
  • Applicable specialty.
  • Documentation to be reviewed.
  • Planned technical visits and their indicative duration.
  • Scope of the conclusions (for example: cause, extent of damages, economic valuation).

Indicative cost

  • Professional fees.
  • Travel if the case requires it.
  • Foreseeable accessory costs: cove, test, drone, special measurements.

Specific amounts depend on the complexity of the case and are communicated on a case-by-case basis. You can see how the costs are structured in the fees and terms section.

Indicative deadlines

Indicative deadlines are indicated for the visit and for the delivery of the report. The definitive deadlines depend on the agenda and the availability of the property, the vehicle or the third parties involved.

How the quotation is accepted

Acceptance can be formalized by email or in writing. Billable expert work is not initiated without express acceptance.

  • Written confirmation from the client.
  • Signature or mail in accordance with the conditions.
  • If applicable, provision of funds as agreed.

When is the engagement confirmed?

The order is formalized when three elements occur:

  1. Accepted quotation.
  2. If applicable, provision of funds paid.
  3. Minimum documentation provided to be able to start the work.

From that moment on, the technical visit is scheduled and the rest of the process is planned.

Scope changes during the assignment

If during the work it is detected that the issue has a greater scope than initially anticipated (for example, hidden pathologies that appear when opening a cleat, or additional damage not visible in the first inspection), you will be informed before continuing. Any scope expansion is documented and budgeted separately.

Confidentiality and ownership

The report is issued exclusively for the client who orders it. The documentation provided is kept with professional confidentiality and is not shared with third parties without authorization, unless required by court.

Next steps

With the engagement confirmed, the technical visit is planned. If you need to clarify any point in the quote before accepting, you can write from the contact page.
